Finding and maintaining housing can involve a lot of moving pieces. Applications, documentation, housing searches, communication with landlords and housing providers, eligibility requirements, and other barriers can make the process difficult to navigate alone.
Advanced Healthcare Administration (AHA) provides personalized Housing Navigation services designed to help eligible members understand their options, work through housing barriers, and take meaningful steps toward finding and maintaining stable housing.

Our Housing Services
AHA provides housing-related Community Supports through applicable CalAIM programs. Services are based on individual needs, program eligibility and requirements, and available resources.
Housing Transition Navigation Services
AHA helps eligible members navigate the steps involved in finding, applying for, and securing housing.
Depending on the member's individual needs, Housing Transition Navigation may include support with:
Assessing housing needs and barriers
Developing an individualized housing support plan
Identifying appropriate housing opportunities
Navigating housing applications and documentation
Communicating with housing providers and other relevant organizations
Working through barriers that may make it more difficult to secure housing
AHA works alongside members throughout the process, providing personalized support based on their circumstances and housing goals.
Housing Tenancy & Sustaining Services
Finding housing is a big part of the journey, but maintaining stable housing can come with challenges of its own.
Housing Tenancy and Sustaining Services help eligible members maintain safe and stable tenancy after housing has been secured.
Depending on individual needs, support may include:
Understanding tenant responsibilities
Navigating communication with landlords
Addressing housing-related concerns that could affect tenancy
Assistance with housing recertification processes
Connecting with appropriate community resources
Ongoing support with activities related to maintaining housing
The goal is to help members address housing-related barriers before they threaten long-term stability.
Housing Deposits For Eligible Members
For eligible members, Housing Deposit assistance may be available through applicable CalAIM Community Supports.
Housing Deposits are a separate Community Support from Housing Transition Navigation and Housing Tenancy and Sustaining Services. Availability through AHA depends on applicable program requirements, authorization, available resources, and AHA's current capacity.
Housing Deposit assistance is not guaranteed, and AHA is not a general rental or financial assistance program.
What is CalAIM?
California Advancing and Innovating Medi-Cal, or CalAIM, is a statewide initiative designed to improve how Medi-Cal members receive healthcare and health-related services.
Through CalAIM, eligible members may have access to Community Supports that address factors that can affect health and well-being, including housing.
AHA provides applicable housing-related Community Supports to help eligible members navigate the process of finding and maintaining housing.
Personalized Support, Every Step of the Way
Every person's housing situation is different. That's why AHA's approach begins with understanding the individual: where they are now, the barriers they're facing, and what they need to move forward.
Our team works collaboratively with members and, when appropriate, their health plans, case managers, healthcare and behavioral health providers, housing providers, and other community partners to help navigate the housing process.
Who Is Eligible for AHA Services?
Eligibility depends on factors including the requested service, applicable program requirements, health plan requirements, housing circumstances, and other eligibility criteria.
Submitting a request or referral does not guarantee acceptance into services, housing placement, Housing Deposit assistance, rental assistance, or other financial support.
